Qualifying Life Events

Once you’ve enrolled in your benefits, you generally can’t make changes until the next open enrollment period — unless you experience a qualifying life event. This segment explains what counts as a qualifying event, like marriage, divorce, the birth or adoption of a child, or losing other insurance coverage. If any of these apply to you or your dependents, you have 30 days to notify your carrier to update your plan. Acting quickly is essential; missing that window means waiting until the next annual enrollment period to make changes.
