we are going to dive into a lot of different nutrition issues that you might be running into um with your night shift routine and we’re going to dive into the problems and the solutions there to help you navigate

through some of the nutrition problems that you might be having so first off my name is Kelsey Butler I’m a registered dietitian I have a background in nutrition research coaching and program development

um among a lot of other things I’m a jack of all trades in a sense I like to be uh involved in a lot of different things so I’m always happy to help with different areas of nutrition

um and learn more about different areas of nutrition as well um my biggest focus though is just to make nutrition simple and sustainable

I believe that we all have the opportunity to um have great nutrition and live healthy lives no matter what our lifestyles are what kind of routine we have even if we are working the night shift

um there is opportunity there to um have really great nutrition and have nourished bodies so we’re going to dive into part one of our diet troubleshooting guide here

uh and this is just kind of an overview of the course and some things that we’re going to be talking about so first off for some common diet pitfalls so you might find that you relate to one of these or all of them

some of them um but just to kind of give you an overview of things that we’re going to talk about here one is lack of consistency in your nutrition so if you find that you are often

starting and falling off of a diet or maybe um you just aren’t able to stick to something find sustainability find consistency find motivation

um or if you’re finding that hey my day is really hard to schedule maybe you have different types of schedules every day

um so talking about that consistency there with your nutrition um next is energy crashes you might be finding that you have really high peaks and really big falls of energy

maybe you have you know periods of low energy throughout the day that you know I always have low energy at this time so we’re going to talk about that as well

um another one is low access to good food so maybe um you don’t have access at your job you don’t have a refrigerator you don’t have a microwave

um maybe you don’t have great food options where you work maybe you have to choose things from a vending machine so we’re going to talk about that how to make those good options plan ahead

and get prepared for your workday other things we’re going to talk about social weekend restaurant eating how to deal with eating in the social setting or when you don’t have full control

over your meal or what you’re cooking um and then lastly is adapting to those shifting schedules so I know we talked about this a little bit with consistency
